It All Started with a Click

Hiding away behind a screen

Hiding the feelings settling in

Contented to see you as a star

Burning bright but never far

It’s funny how it all started with a click

Following your life’s course like flashing films

Smiling idly foolish like a kid

From the pebbles that hopes, it could be picked

But what is this I fear,

Yellow dwarf faces me in the spotlight

The flower vase’s anxiety heightens up in the sky

Skipping beats, you can hear it from miles

Thoughts derange from mirage realities

Our red twin flames so sudden, intertwines

The renaissance of our chapter’s first beginning

From shy quite smiles to ear shattering laughter

As if I’m finally the main character

Where I get to be the damsel in distress and you my knight and shining armor

Walks in the sunset beach talking over forever while the moon slowly creeps

Dates in comfortable silence

Without doubts and misery

Dancing under the stars where you were once was

Bickering in food but not with our love

Awaken by mornings with you by my side, how lovely it is to be with you my whole life

Staring out of space wondering,

Embraced in your arms like a newborn son,

Weeping with finality of you and me in the dusk of dawn

But the thought burns, leaving me astray.

As if fantasies shift to hideous paralysis- a nightmare of confusion.

Stuck in the illusion of questions, of maybes and possibilities lingering like a plague.

This feeling- am I in too deep to get away?

Should I shout it all for the world to hear

Or murmur for you to know you are dear

Hiding away behind a screen

Keeping the feelings settling in

Contented to see you as a star

Burning bright but always far

A/N: I wrote this on the day of my 22nd birthday, marking the very first piece I've made being a 22-year-old woman. I was inspired by the thought that my crush to someone might come true. Blinded by the assumptions of what could happen. Only to realize that it isn't happening. This piece is also the first ever awitula/spoken word poetry piece ft of my favorite song at the moment Guilty as sin by Taylor Swift from her TTPD album, I've made after enchanted which impacted me as much and had created this masterpiece. This piece describes an alternative universe where my feelings get reciprocated but in reality, it is a farfetched dream that is why the greatest twist of all is when such thoughts did not become a reality
